TAB 1-2-3™
Endorsing 3rd Party TAB services by BuildingSmartSoftware™ Inc., TAB 1-2-3™
is a first-of-a-kind air and water balancing process to function in sync
with the air and water balancing organizations (AABC, NEBB, and TABB)
industry standards.
TAB-1 provides the following documents for the design engineer,

TAB-2 provides BuildingSmartSoftware
standardized HVAC Observation Checklists to be used in sync with AABC. NEBB,
or TABB pre-TAB observation checklists that are found in these organizations
air and water balancing manuals.
TAB-3 is a unique system flow diagram software build on a Microsoft
Visio software platform (similar to Cx-3 software) for use by HVAC design
engineers and/or TAB engineers. For the engineer using system flow diagrams
to estimate the total air or water pressure drops for the specific system
being designed, it is also the same process for the TAB engineer to complete
a pre-TAB review of the HVAC system design to confirm adequate or document
excessive system pressure. TAB-3 allows the user to input the estimated
pressure drop before and after each HVAC component. Later, when the system
is being adjusted and balanced, the TAB engineer can input the actual static
pressure or head pressure reading to document compliance adjacent to the
initial design estimate. As data input is documented on the TAB-3 system
flow diagram, an Excel spreadsheet is being built, point-to-point in the
background. This spreadsheet will become part of the TAB Final Report
 TAB-3 is a useful analytical tool to trouble-shooting a problematic HVAC
system or to assist in an energy retro-commissioning project, as well as
compliments the Commissioning 1-2-3™, Cx-3 software also built on the
Microsoft Visio software.
